Nin riviera

Get to know the surroundings of Nin Together with Nin, this riviera includes Grbe and Zaton which belong to it administratively, then the independent municipalities of Vir, Privlaka and Vrsi as well as Petrčane which officially belong to Zadar.

Zadar is 14 kilometres from Nin, and also the county town. It has a turbulent past, and rich monumental heritage, surrounded by 265 islands, islets, and reefs; it is the town of young people, basketball and sea sports as well as having many cultural and architectural attractions. Its sunset is said to be the most beautiful in the world.

Biograd is surrounded by modern marinas and a promenade, offering a wonderful view of the island of Pašman. It is a well-known tourist and nautical centre offering many sports and hospitality services to tourists, where they can have a great time. It is 45 kilometres from Nin.

The town of Pag has a rich cultural heritage and tradition. It is famous for its lace, cheese and lamb. It is 75 kilometres from Nin.

Šibenik Map


Šibenik is located in a picturesque rugged bay into which the River Krka flows. The archipelago consists of 242 islands, islets and reefs, and the most important cultural and historical monument of Šibenik is the Cathedral of St Jacob from 15th-16th century which is on the UNESCO heritage list. It is 90 kilometres from Nin.

Knin is the former royal town located near the source of the River Krka, in the triangle between Bosnia, Lika and Dalmatia. It is 105 kilometres from Nin.

The National Park Paklenica stretches across the sea - facing southern slope of Velebit, and the most beautiful areas are the canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica. From Nin to the park's entrance there is about 50 kilometres.

In the National Park of North Velebit there are various karst phenomena and its beauty is exceptional. From the top of the mountains, a wonderful view of the Adriatic Sea can be experienced. Together with Nin it is on the European EDEN net, and it takes 2.5 hours by car to reach the park.

The National Park of the Plitvice Lakes is the only national park in Croatia whose natural beauty and singularity was amongst the first on the list of world heritage (UNESCO). It is a wooded mountain area with 16 smaller and bigger lakes, 146 kilometres from Nin.

The National Park of Kornati can be found in the central part of the Croatian Adriatic belonging to both Šibenik and Zadar archipelagos. It has an exceptionally beautiful landscape and indented coastline. During the season, there is the possibility of going on organised boat trips.

The National Park of Krka stretches between Knin and Skradin and the River Krka has wonderful waterfalls. During the season, there is the possibility of organised trips or individual visits. It is 95 kilometres from Nin.

Vransko jezero is the biggest lake in Croatia, proclaimed as a Nature Park containing an ornithological reserve. It is 40 kilometres from Nin.

Nature Park Telašćica

The Nature Park of Telašćica is located in the National Park Kornati and due to its unusual beauty and importance it was proclaimed as a nature park in 1988. The bay of Telašćica is surrounded by 13 islands and there are six small islands inside the bay. During the season, there is the possibility of going on organised one-day boat trips.

The Zrmanja is one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe: crystal clear water with a magnificent canyon and magical waterfalls. It is easy and safe for beginner canoeists, and the natural surroundings make it exceptionally exciting.
